To All Faculty Members:

Conflict is to be expected within an academic community. The University of Iowa encourages constructive conflict in the sense that the expression of differing and strongly held views can lead to deeper understanding as well as better research and teaching. Destructive conflict, however, can damage relationships, silence members of the community, and reduce the possibilities for collaboration and academic excellence. I ask that all faculty members at The University of Iowa seek to manage conflicts appropriately and productively. This website offers resources that may help.
