Office of the Dean of Students:  has two main components, including Student Care and Assistance, which provides support to students in crisis and emergency situations, and Student Accountability, which handles concerns about student behavior.

Office of Civil Rights Compliance (OCRC) supports a campus environment where each individual's ideas, contributions, and goals are respected and valued and streamlines the process of reporting bias, harassment, discrimination, equity, free speech, and sexual misconduct concerns.  The three units under OCRC include:

Office of the Ombudsperson (Confidential Resource): offers informal dispute resolution for students, faculty and staff. Our mission is to see that all members of the University community are treated fairly. The office provides a confidential, safe place to discuss any concerns about the University, its policies or procedures. The office will direct visitors to additional resources as needed.

Student Legal Services:  provides legal advice and legal representation to full-time, registered students in a variety of cases, including landlord-tenant disputes, consumer problems, defense of misdemeanors, unemployment claims, dissolutions of marriage, small claims actions, guardianship and conservatorship, name changes, collections and contract actions.

University Counseling Service (UCS) (Confidential Resource): offers free, confidential counseling services to University of Iowa students. The UCS assists students with any personal, emotional, or academic issues that prevent the attainment of academic and personal goals. The UCS is staffed by licensed psychologists and psychologists-in-training.
